ALUMINA INDEXABLE UDRILLS
Applications:
U-Drills are high-performance indexable drilling tools designed for fast, stable, and accurate hole-making in CNC turning centers, machining centers, and drill-mills.
Suitable for 2D, 3D, and 5D depth-to-diameter (L/D) drilling with excellent chip evacuation and minimal deflection.
Ideal for drilling in steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, cast iron, non-ferrous materials, and superalloys depending on the insert grade.
Used for through-holes, blind holes, step drilling, and interrupted cuts in general machining, automotive, mold & die, and heavy-engineering industries.
Key Advantages:
High Penetration Rates:
Optimized cutting geometry allows significantly higher feed rates compared to solid drills, reducing cycle time.Versatile Insert Options:
Compatible with multiple insert grades for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous materials, and heat-resistant alloys.Stable & Reliable Performance:
Rigid body construction ensures excellent stability, improved accuracy, and reduced vibration even at long drilling depths (5D).Superior Chip Evacuation:
Wide flutes and optimized coolant passages ensure smooth chip flow, preventing chip packing and improving tool life.High Accuracy & Surface Finish:
Precision-ground pockets and engineered alignment deliver consistent hole diameter and smooth internal surfaces.
Types
2D U-Drill (Short Length):
Best for shallow holes and high-rigidity setups.
Offers the highest feed rates and stability.
Ideal for mass production and high-speed machining.
3D U-Drill (Medium Length):
Balanced design for versatility in general hole-making.
Excellent choice for parts requiring reliable accuracy at moderate depths.
5D U-Drill (Long Length):
Designed for deeper holes where stability is critical.
Reinforced body and enhanced chip evacuation prevent deflection and chatter.
Suitable for challenging materials and complex components.
Common Depths: 2D, 3D, 4D, 5D
Uses: Both series are used for drilling holes in workpieces where indexable insert systems are preferred (large diameters, production runs). The depth category (2D–5D) lets you choose based on how deep the hole is relative to diameter.
